General Rules

What you should learn first.

1. U2分享園@動漫花園("U2") is a private tracker for animations, comics and related stuff but not hentai.
2. Please follow U2's rules. Don't do anything expressly forbidden by U2 Staff.
2.1. U2 Staff have the right to further explain and modify the rules.
2.2. U2 Staff reserve the right to handle behaviors harmful to U2 but not covered by rules.
2.3. Contact U2 Staff (opens new window) or Make Suggestions (opens new window) if you're unhappy or unsure about the rules or moderation results.
3. It's everybody's business to keep U2 orderly and harmonious.
3.1. No verbal attacks on any user or group. Remember! Whether intentionally or not, dispelling others' enthusiasms hurts people.
3.2. Please contact U2 Staff first for the following situations. Treating others by your own preferences is also a misbehavior.
3.2.1. Languages and behaviors you deem inappropriate.
3.2.2. Rule violations and improper implementations. Concerns about practices of U2 Staff.
4. It's strictly forbidden to play pranks on or to attack this site and its users by exploiting system vulnerabilities. Serious offenders will be directly banned.
5. It is strictly forbidden to profit from user accounts, invitations, UCoins and resources of this site. Violators shall be banned without pardon!
6. Do not directly upload torrents on this site to other trackers! (Please refer to FAQ (opens new window) for more information)
7. U2 Account Regulations:
7.1. Parked accounts (setting available in User CP (opens new window)) will be deleted if not logged in for 600 consecutive days.
7.2. Accounts not parked will be disabled if not logged in for 90 consecutive days; deleted if not logged in for 120 consecutive days.
7.3. New accounts will be deleted if there is no traffic (0 KB upload and download) within the first 7 days of registration.
7.4. One account per person. Sock puppets will result in a ban!
7.5. Any account found to be cheating and / or seriously violating the rules will be banned. Do not take any chances!
7.6. There is no collateral punishment in U2 currently. But all accounts associated with trading or sockpuppeting will be banned!
7.7. Since U2 has joined PT-related anti-cheat unions, members found to have cheated elsewhere will also be banned at U2.
7.8. Users can change registered email and passkey (what is a passkey (opens new window)) in the control panel (User CP (opens new window)).

Downloading Rules

Waiting or Asking for promotion is rude and stupid!

1. Low ratios (opens new window) may result in severe consequences, including banning accounts. See FAQ (opens new window).
2. Rules for torrent promotion:
2.1. Random promotion (torrents promoted randomly by system upon uploading):
2.1.1. 1% chance becoming 50% Leech.
2.1.2. 1% chance becoming 30% Leech.
2.2. Manual promotion (manually set by U2 Staff after torrents uploaded):

3. We also occasionally turn on site-wide Free Leech. Enjoy it!!!
4. Only use allowed bittorrent clients in U2. See FAQ (opens new window).

1. BASIC PRINCIPLES
1.1. PT suitability principles. (Top priority)
1.1.1. The contents and directory structures of torrents must suit the PT (i.e. P2P) environment. Be sure to consider the following questions before sharing:

• Is it easy to download? For example, do not blindly aim for completeness that you've included files discarded by existing revisions (rev). Don't duplicate files.
  
• Is it easy to seed? For example, try not to make users select files in a torrent to download.
  
• Is it easy to cross-seed? For example, do not arbitrarily modify the original contents; unpack video files before releasing to avoid repeatedly taking disk space.

1.2. As the torrent distributor, the uploader must respect the original creator / publisher when uploading. And be responsible for the files you're distributing.
1.2.1. Don't make arbitrary modifications to the file names and contents.
1.2.2. Follow the requirement of the original creators / publishers.
1.2.3. Be sure to seed long enough with adequate bandwidth so users can finish their downloads. Don't stop seeding or delete torrents for no reason.
1.3. Any member can upload torrents. However, except for U2-Rip group, Uploaders and U2 Staff, users will need to submit an offer.
1.4. DO NOT upload the duplicate contents.
1.5. The torrents violating the above priciples will be rejected or deleted by U2 Staff.

2. ALLOWED CONTENTS
2.1. Anime, Comics, the related Music and other ralated stuff. Games are currently not accepted.
2.2. In principle, U2 does not accept the video encoded from another video(rips). Such as subtitles group's works in RMVB format and some highly compressed rips.
2.3. Except for the torrents of discs, films, U2-Rip's works and extremely long series, the contents need to contain at least a full season.
2.4. For extremely long series, if the plot is obviously segmented, releases can be made in packs by plot chapters (according to the Japanese wiki usually). If the plot is not obviously segmented, releases should be made in packs by year/season.
2.5. Blu-ray Disc must be uploaded with BDMV, except 3D BD and MGVC BD.

2.7. Torrent categories:

• BDMV: include BDISO, BDMV, REMUX. They are extracted from original Blu-ray discs without re-encoding.
  
• BDRip: videos(rips) re-encoded from BDMVs.
  
• HDTVRip: videos(rips) re-encoded from HDTV steams. At least 720p is required.
  
• DVDISO: extracted and not re-encoded original DVD discs.
  
• DVDRip: videos(rips) from original DVD discs.
  
• WEB: videos downloaded from online video sites.
  
• LDrip: videos(rips) created from LD (Laser Disk) and the likes.
  
• U2-Rip: the torrents produced by U2-Rip group.
  
• U2-RBD: Re-encoded BD that preserves the original disc's structure (such as AVCHD). Usually made by U2's internal groups.
  
• Plugin structure: Subtitles, audio tracks and other contents that enhance the functionality of the original disc without changing its file structure.
  
• Stream-adding remaster: adding subtitles, audio streams and other contents to BDs without affecting its quality (no re-encoding).
  
• RAW BOOK: Works in its native languages, including comic books, novels, art collections and other publications.
  
• Taiwan-translated Comics: Comics translated and published in Taiwan.
  
• Hong Kong-translated Comics: Comics translated and published in Hong Kong.
  
• Lossless music:animation-related music in lossless formats.
  
• Others: the ACG-related stuff that do not fall into any of the above categories can be placed here.

3. OFFERS AND UPLOADING GUIDELINE
3.1. Follow the title guideline.
3.2. Moderators will modify the titles and descriptions of torrents according to the rules. Do not change the moderator's modifications at will. The uploader can further amend and add information.
3.3. Correct resource titles and complete descriptions help speed up approvals.
3.4. Show RESPECT the original creator / publisher. And be responsible to the files you are uploading.
3.5. Do not include duplicate subtitle files in the contents. Put them in compressed archives or as separate files in the same directory of the video files. For the torrents of RAW, it's recommended to not include subtitles, and upload them separately to the subtitles-page.
3.6. Except for comics, art albums, plugin structures and large collections of CD albums released on the external site, it's recommended to upload Contents in decompressed form.
3.7. Why your offers/torrents are rejected/deleted:
3.7.1. There are unnecessary files.
3.7.2. There are files from the old, unrevised torrent, and the new torrent has been uploaded.
3.7.3. There are files missing, and the complete new torrent has been uploaded.
3.7.4. A pack including the contents of your torrent has been uploaded. (Except for original disc)
3.8. Rules of Offer "Autocheck" System:
3.8.1. This system is in beta stage currently. Rules may change without notification, and the staff reserve the right to explain it.

3.8.2. Members may upload an offer as "Autocheck" if qualified by all following conditions:

• a. Own >= x living torrents in the corresponding category. (x = 1 in BDISO and DVDISO, x = 3 in other categories.)
  
• b. Whose "Autocheck" permission is not disabled.

3.8.3. In beta phase, the following categories do not accept "Autocheck" offers: Others.
3.8.4. The Up/Down votes will affect the score of the "Autocheck" offer. If the score exceeds a certain value, then our system will pass that offer automatically. Abuse of votes may result in a penalty, which means your votes will not affect the score anymore.
3.8.5. Our system checks all "Autocheck" offers once every hour. You should see the mark on torrent details page if it's passed automatically. You could use a filter to block all "Autochecked" torrents if you are configuring your RSS link.
3.8.6. If there are serious problems with an "Autocheck" offer, you could disable the "Autocheck" status of it by reporting it. Abuse of reports may result in a penalty, which means your reports will not disable the "Autocheck" status anymore.
3.8.7. Users who uploads low-quality torrents multiple times with "Autocheck" enabled, may have their "Autocheck" permission disabled by staff.
3.8.8. Once uploaded, you could no longer edit the "Autocheck" attribute of the offer. After you changed the category of an offer, it will still be an "Autocheck" offer if you meet the requirements in 3.8.2 and 3.8.3, but with a zero score. If requirements are not met, it will be an offer without "Autocheck".
3.8.9. Staff reserve the rights to reject/pass/edit an "Autocheck" offer manually. If staff corrected the category of an "Autocheck" offer, it will not be "Autocheck" anymore. Staff may add "Autocheck" to certain offers, even if the owner of it does not meet the conditions. If you don't want your offers to be "Autocheck" for reasons, you could notice us in torrent description or small description.

4. PACKING RULES
4.1. You should ensure the contents are complete and intact.
4.2. Original discs pack need to hash with single volume torrents before uploading.
4.3. Animation videos(rips) pack should be the same encoding format and the same encoder / subtitle group(s).
4.4. Music by the same artist, in the same series of albums, released on the same exhibition and so on can be put in the same collection. There are no special requirements for formats.
4.5. Comics by the same author can be packed.(not recommended)
4.6. If you cannot be sure, contect U2's moderators.
4.7. The Anidb number of a pack can be the earliest title or the highest rated, most important one in it.
4.8. When pack are uploaded, the related original torrents will be deleted or hidden.

Rules for Subtitles

Show RESPECT to subtitlers!

1. Users must upload subtitles in compressed archives to the subtitle area (opens new window). Supported formats include zip, rar and 7z.
2. Files to be uploaded must be named in English. Make sure uploaded files can be properly decompressed.
3. DO NOT just upload the subtitles for one volume. If compressed archives are too big, you can be separately packed by episodes.
4. DO NOT upload the DUPLICATE subtitles.
5. Make your uploading subtitles suitable for the corresponding torrents.
6. DO NOT add unnecessary files to the compressed archives of subtitles, except the production documentation of your subtitles.

Forum Guidelines

Thinking before posting!

1. DO NOT attack or provoke others. No discriminatory or offensive remarks on skin color, nationality, ethnicity, family, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, physical or mental aspects are allowed. Serious offenders' accounts will be directly banned!
2. No discussion of taboos, politics or the topics prohibited by local laws.
3. No flooding or commercial advertisements.
4. Civilized language. Do not use foul languages or languages that damages your own dignity.
5. Consider the feelings of others before posting.
6. Do not duplicate your posts. Full use of editing and searching.
7. Obey all rules published in different forum.
7.1. Make sure your posts are within the scope of each corresponding section.
8. Note the attachment sizes of your posts.

Commenting Guidelines

No flooding

1. Show RESPECT to the resource creator and uploader!
   
2. Forum guideline apply to torrent comments too.
   
3. Don't just say "thank you", "thanks for uploading" or similar comments. Real gratitude is not merely in words.
   
4. DO NOT abruptly asking the uploader (or other members) for certain things, such as start seeding as soon as possible, uploading subtitles, uploading the original discs and so on. In many cases, such behaviors are impolite and ineffective, even counterproductive. If the situation is really serious (such as seeding issues), use [Requests], [Report] features or seek help in the forum.
   
5. Don't comment on the torrent promotion.

Avatar and Signature Guideline

Consider the feelings of others!

1. Avatars and signatures are set in User CP (opens new window).
1.1. Supported formats include gif, jpg, png and so on.
1.2. Only the first image is displayed in your signature.
2. U2's hosting capacity is limited. Please upload your images to other hosting sites.
3. Do not use huge (resolution and file size) images. It will only waste everyone's bandwidth and CPU time. Too big images will not be displayed.
4. Avatars' standard display width (horizontal) is 150 pixels.
4.1. When displayed in a browser, lower resolution images will be scaled up, higher resolution images will be scaled down.
5. The maximum supported image resolution is 500 × 200 pixels (width × height); larger images will be scaled down to this size.
6. Do not use images or statements possibly unpleasant to others including pornography, religion, politics, bloody scenes and so on. If you are not sure if an image / statement is appropriate, then don't use it.
7. U2 Staff have the authority to manage users' avatars and signatures if necessary.

Code of Moderations

With great power comes great responsibility!

1. Caution your power!
1.1. Cautious
1.1.1. The principle of punishment is to maintain the overall environment of U2 rather than to create new conflicts.
1.2. Patient
1.2.1. You should first try coordinating and solving the problem by talking to the offending user(s) privately.
1.2.2. Members responding to private messages positively can be treated with leniency.
1.2.3. Give offenders a chance to turn over or an observation period.
1.2.4. Correct the inappropriate posts of users by communicating rather than simply deleting them.
1.2.5. Try moving threads to appropriate sections rather than simply locking them.
1.3. Fairness
1.3.1. Convince people by reasoning.
1.3.2. Do not use "God's perspective.” Put yourself in others' shoes and feel for others.
1.3.3. Don't be afraid to say no to rule violations.
1.4. Generous
1.4.1. Handle reasonable suggestions and questionings seriously. The Internet is a huge place. Be psychologically prepared for questioning voices.
1.5. Respectful
1.5.1. Do not comment or judge other members in public at will.
1.6. Model
1.6.1. It is the responsibility of U2 Staff to maintain the overall environment of U2. Don't sabotage it yourself.
2. Discretion
2.1. The moderators has certain discretion to ensure that unexpected behaviors not covered by rules do not harm the overall environment of U2.
2.2. Any member of the moderators has to make sure that there is at least one other team member who's aware of and supports your decisions prior to exercising your discretion.
2.3. In the event that section 2.2 can not be satisfied, but the current situation requires your immediate actions, the concerned moderation team member may exercise his/her discretion alone. But as the only person responsible, that moderation team member must bear the consequences caused by improper discretion alone.
2.4. In case of improper discretion, the misconduct will be considered one level less serious than it is when applying penalties to the concerned moderation team member. 2.5. Deciding penalties is discretion.
3. One punishment per wrong doing.
3.1. One offence can not be repeatedly punished.
3.2. The moderation team have one chance to revise penalties, punishing reasons or cancel the punishment decision.
3.3. Revising penalties, punishing reasons or cancelling the original decision should be discussed internally by the moderation team first. The MODERATOR group members are not free to revise decisions on punishments made by other moderation team members.
4. Internal communication is a priority.
4.1. Do not openly refute other moderators. Discuss everything privately.

Rewards and Punishments Rules

1. At U2, the ONLY principle of rewards and punishments is the effect of users' behavior on the overall environment.
2. Punishment
2.1. Verbal coordination (verbal warning). For first offenses, slightly improper behaviors and so on.
2.2. Deducing UCOIN.
2.3. Deducing upload traffic. Use this for unintentional cheating.
2.4. Ban to post.
2.5. Warning. The length of time ranges from one week to four weeks. This is for more serious violations.
2.6. Banning. This is for the most serious violations such as cheating and account trading.
3. The account on suspect about cheating and account trading will be banned before proven innocent.
4. Except cheating and account trading, U2 Staff also applies discretionary punishments in accordance with damages done to U2's environment.
5. U2 Staff must state and log reasons for punishments. When you are enforcing rules, the relevant section numbers should be cited along with more detailed explanations.
6. One punishment per wrong doing.
7. Rewards
7.1. Adding UCOIN.
7.2. Adding props. (not online)
8. How to appeal
8.1. The users punished ("the petitioner") may appeal against the punishment decision within one week of its effective date. Appeals are no longer accepted beyond that time frame.
8.2. Except for banning, the petitioner can appeal through the "report" button and the staff box. Do not appeal in the forum. Appealing to individual moderation team members by sending private messages is not recommended.
8.3. For banning, the petitioner can appeal in the external forum.
8.4. The petitioner should provide relevant proofs in the appeal and cooperate with the moderation team to further provide necessary materials.
8.5. After receiving the appeal, the moderation team will discuss the original punishment decision internally.
Except for banning, discussion results will be made available within 3 days of appeal's submission.
